Spencer Simmons - Greenville, SC
Spencer Simmons is a singer/songwriter born and raised in Greenville, SC.
Spencer began playing music at a young age and quickly found that it was something she loved. Like most young musicians, she lacked a significant amount of talent, but never confidence! When asked, Spencer said " I remember playing songs for my parents when I was younger and saying ' Mom, Mom, Mom, do you know what it is!'....she never did". Spencer continued taking lessons and eventually her music began to sound like music.
Fast forward to 2009 - Spencer graduated high school moved to Memphis, TN to take part in a year long inner-city internship. It was in Memphis that she started taking steps towards a musical career by playing music for a summer missions camp called "SOS Memphis". In 2010, she enrolled at Clemson University in SC and began playing music anywhere and everywhere she could. This led to a meeting with a local producer who gave Spencer one shot to impress him. She played "Hello", and the rest is history. Spencer released her debut EP titled "Draw Me Closer" in March of 2012. After releasing the album, she spent the summer touring the US and Canada with Tyler Hilton and Dion Roy. After returning from tour, she returned to school and began working on her sophomore album, "Alright", which released January 7th of this year.
The album was produced by Grammy winning producer, Noel Golden, in Nashville, TN. In January, Spencer joined Teddy Gieger, Tyler Hilton, and Ryan Cabrera as the opening act for their nationwide tour.
